Hello, Please let me know that how do I reset my HP printer. I am facing some issue in resetting HP printer. But don't know how to fix it. Help me.

Method 1: Reset HP Printer without Display

Follow the given steps to reset default settings of HP printer:

Step 1 : Switch On the printer and remove the USB cable attached to its rear end.

Step 2 : If your printer ink cartridge then take it out after opening the device cover. Wait till you see the message 'Missing Ink Cartridge' message on screen.

Step 3 : Disconnect the power cord of HP printer and leave everything untouched for atleast 2-3 minutes.

Step 4 : Plug back power cord into the printer and wait for the HP printer to turn on automatically. Press Power button if process doesn’t happen itself.

Step 5 : Reinsert the cartridges and cover your printer again.

Step 6 : Connect the USB cable and your HP printer is set to work.

Method 2: Reset HP Printer with Display

Perform factory reset for the device if the above process of cold reset doesn't works.

Step 1 : Firstly, switch On your HP printer and press the Menu button located on the front panel of the machine.

Step 2 : Scroll up or down using the ‘-‘ icons to choose Preferences option from the list.

Note: If you are unable to locate any "Preferences' option then find 'reset all menu settings' or 'Tool' followed by Restore factory defaults.

Step 3 : Finally, select Restore Defaults followed by OK option. This restores the HP printer to its original settings.

Step 4 : After the process is completed, you will see the confirmation message.

Method 3: Restore Printer's Network Settings

Following the given steps, you can either reset HP printer network settings or you can enter the device in Setup mode. Remember, once the printer is reset, all the network or other settings are lost.

Method 4: Reset Print Server to Default Factory Settings

Step 1 : Turn off the printer and make sure that the front cover is closed.

Step 2 : Ensure that the power cord is plugged in the printer device.

Step 3 : Next, press and continuously hold the GO button on the printer's front panel and press the Power button.

Note: Keep pressing the power button until all other LEDs light up except Ready LED.

Step 4 : You can now release the GO button which must turn off all LEDs.

Step 5 : Finally, press the GO button atleast 6 times to ensure that each light on HP printer glows. If that happens, this means that your printer server is reset to default factory settings.

Alternative Methods : How to Reset My HP Printer?
  1. You can even reset the ink cartridges already installed on your printer. This means you can insert and replace old cartridges with new ones.
