Whenever you are buying a new device from the market, that hardware has some default details that can be used to access it and reset in further times. Likewise, your Brother printer has some default password which is importantly needed while you buy a new device and try to connect it with your Brother machine.
However, certain times, you just want to do a factory reset to complete your printing jobs on time. But during unfortunate times, you just miss out or forget the default Brother Printer password as well as the user name. So in such a situation, establishing a connection between the computer and the printer becomes quite difficult and hectic.
As this problem occurs usually, you need to strive hard to change the default password on Brother Printer. Generally, this default password is one that is set at the time of product manufacturing. Also, this default password is almost the same for all products manufactured at the Brother factory.
In fact as per the Brother Printer’s manufacturers, the default password for Brother Printer is “access”. However, you might require to change the default password on Brother Printer in certain situations, for which the steps are discussed below.
Step 1: Firstly, open your Brother Printer as well as your computer system.
Step 2: In the next step, you have to create a secure connection between the computer and the Brother device.
Step 3: For doing this, you have to connect both devices using a router.
Step 4: Now, launch any installed web browser on your system and go to the “Network Configuration” page.
Step 5: In the page that appears on your screen, enter or type in the Brother Printer default password, which is usually “access”.
Step 6: Next, you will be provided the three links which ask you to, “Change Password”, ”Configure Password” or “Password & Contact”. Choose the one that you wish to change the default password on Brother Printer.
Step 7: Finally, you can enter the new password and then click on the “Done” option.
Step 1: Open any installed web browser on your system.
Step 2: In the search bar of your web browser, enter “http://machine’s IP address”. This actually shows the IP address of your Brother Printer or the print server name.
Step 3: Now, a login page will display on your screen. Here, you have to type the default password which is usually “access” or in some cases it is “init pass”.
Step 4: In this next step, you have to click on the “Administrator” tab. If you don't find that tab, then click on the “Login Password” option.
Step 5: Next, select the “Enter New Password” option and enter in the password that you wish to set newly.
Step 6: Lastly, note down the password at a safe place for future reference.
Step 7: Retype the new password and finally click on the “Done” or “Submit” option.
To work on wifi networks, your printer needs a wifi password. But if you forget that password then a reset is necessary. Here's how you can manually reset your wifi password if you are using a wifi network.
Step 1: Launch the Control Panel window and press the Menu button.
Step 2: Tap on Settings or Spanner & Screwdriver now.
Step 3: Ensure to select All settings.
Step 4: Now, scroll downwards to Network and press the OK button.
Step 5: Again, scroll downwards to Network reset and press the OK button.
Step 6: You can press 1 to say yes and confirm the reboot process. Now, your Brother printer starts rebooting. Then the printer will ask you to setup wifi connection once the reboot is complete.
Step 7: Press OK three times to launch Setup Wizard.
Step 8: Choose your wifi network and select No if you are asked to use WPS.
Step 9: Now, enter your wifi password and press OK and 1 for applying the changes.
