Students can create large posters on the computer for a project, craft or gift. However, large-format printers are required to print the poster on oversized paper.Take a look at roofing the poster and printing on your home printer as an option to buying a large layout printer or sending the document to a printing service.

Step 1: Go to the document (poster file) in the application and select the ‘Print’ function (usually under ‘File’ in the top menu bar).
Step 2: Select your desired printer from the printer list--in the "Printer" section of the Print dialog box.
Step 3: Select the ‘Properties’ or ‘Set up’ button and click the ‘Advanced’ tab,
Step 4: Select the desired paper size of the poster from the drop down menu under ‘Paper size’ in the ‘Paper/Output’ section. If the desired paper size is not available, click the option, ‘Custom Size’ and type the dimensions of the paper in the corresponding fields before clicking the ‘OK’ button.
Step 5: Choose ‘On’ under ‘Tiling’ in the ‘Document Options’ section.
Step 6: Tap on the ‘OK’ button to exit the Set up or Properties window.
Step 7: Sample the layout of the printout in the thumbnail image in the Print dialog box to confirm the distribution of tiled pages.
Step 8: Put the paper in the paper tray and click the ‘Print’ button.
Step 1: Print the poster to a PDF file using a virtual PDF printer such as AdobePDF or CutePDF- by selecting the ‘Print’ function, selecting the virtual PDF from the printer list and clicking the ‘Print’ button. Make sure you save your PDF in an easily accessible location on your computer, such as your desktop.
Step 2: Launch Microsoft Excel and create a new spreadsheet.
Step 3: Select ‘Picture’ under ‘Insert’ in the top menu bar and select your PDF created in Step 1.
Step 4: Select ‘Print’ under ‘File’ in the top menu bar and select your printer from the printer list in the "Printer" section.
Step 5: Preview the tiled pages that will be generated.
Step 6: Load paper into the printer's paper tray and click the ‘Print’ button.
Step 1: Lay the poster board on a flat surface.
Step 2: Organize the tiled pages so that the edges of the printed design or image align. Trim the edges of the overlapping papers, if desired.
Step 3: Apply glue or tape to the back of the pages and affix the tiled papers to the board to create a large-sized poster.
GIMP offers a free way to create and edit image files for your business, and it supports the PDF file format. The program can open PDF documents consisting of a single page or multiple pages, and while it doesn't support multi-page PDF exports, it does let you export each page individually.
You can also take the help of GIMP to export any of its other supported image formats to PDF and the export settings let you maintain any layer masks you used in the original image.
Step 1: Right-click on the JPG image to edit, and select ‘Open With.’
Step 2: Select the ‘GIMP Image Editor’ choice to open the JPG file in the GIMP application.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Print’ and the ‘Print to File’ printer option from GIMP's ‘File’ menu. Several new options appear, including the ‘PDF’ and ‘PS’ printing options.
Step 4: Select the radio button next to the ‘PDF’ option.
Step 5: Type a name for the PDF file into the ‘Name’ input box.
Step 6: Click the ‘Save in Folder’ drop-down box and select a location where the PDF will be saved.
Step 7: Click the ‘Print’ button. The JPG file is converted and saved as a PDF in the specified location.
