How to Print Text Messages from an iPhone or Android Device?

One of the most popular means of communication available to us today is sending and receiving text messages. However, text messaging has some limitations. You cannot share it with multiple people at once. It is only limited to the device you send it to. So, in order to share a text message, you need to forward it to other people.

Luckily, there are ways to overcome this limitation. One of the ways is to print the messages. This allows you to record messages for future use. Plus, it will allow you to make electronic information more tactile.

How to Print Text Messages Directly from Your iPhone and Android Device?

If you want to print a text message directly from your Android phone, then you have to meet some requirements. These requirements are stated below.

Step 1) Firstly, you need to connect your Wi-Fi to a local network. You won't be able to print directly if your printer is not Wi-Fi ready. Look at your printer's manual to check your Wi-Fi connectivity. If you wee a Wi-Fi button on your printer, then that means it is Wi-Fi ready.

Step 2) You should connect your phone to the printer. As there are many manufacturers of Android devices,  not every device or tab is capable of connecting to a printer directly. To check the capability, follow the steps mentioned below.

  • First of all, launch the Settings menu. For this, click on the gear icon. You can also swipe up the app menu and then select Settings.
  • Go to the search area on your Settings menu and then select Print. Then, tap on Search.
  • If you see results like Printing, Print jobs, or Printing services on the screen, then that means your printer can do direct printing.

Step 3) Your Android phone or printer should be on the same wireless network. Take a look at your printer's manual to check hope to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Once both the devices are connected, you can proceed with the steps to print text messages using your Android device.

Steps to Print Text Messages from Your Android Device

Step 1: Take a screenshot of the message that you wish to print. You need to do this because there is no in-built method to print messages directly from the text messaging app.

Step 2: Open the Screenshot folder of your device. You can easily do this by following the steps mentioned below.

  • Swipe the main screen and then launch the Apps menu.
  • Find the Files icon and then tap on it.
  • Now, go to the main menu by selecting the horizontal three lines given at the upper-right corner.
  • Tap on images and then select Screenshots.

Step 3: Now, select the screenshot of text messages that you wish to print and then select it.

Step 4: Select the Share icon.

Step 5: After that, you are going to view a list of icons on the screen. Select print from there.

Step 6: Now, you are going to see various printing options. Adjust these options as per your requirement. Once you are done with this, go to the dropdown arro given at the upper-right corner of your screen. After that, choose the name of your printer from the list.

Step 7: After that, you will see a screen to edit printing options like a number of copies and page range. Once you get the confirmation that the current values are working properly, then select the Print button.

Step 8: If your printer device is connected and turned on, then it will begin printing automatically.

Step 9: Repeat the process for all the screenshots.
