Step 1: Try to print something from your computer or print the nozzle check from the printer menu. 

Step 2: When the printer is printing, disconnect it from the power source. 

Step 3: Open the front cover. Now, you will be able to move the carriage freely. 

Step 4: Slide your carriage towards the right but don't push it to the extreme right or else it will lock and you may have to restart the whole process. On the left-hand side, you will see some white plastic gears. 

Step 5: Turn this gear clockwise until you hear the click sound.
