Hello, Please let me know that how to set printer preferences. I am facing some issue in this while printing with canon printer. Help me.
If you are looking forward to knowing how to set printer preferences, then you have come to the right page. Setting printer preferences include setting the print quality that can be high or low.
It also involves deciding whether you want to print your document colored or black and white. Luckily, you can change these settings and set them for all the documents that you are going to print.
Step 1: Launch Start and then open devices and printers.
Go to Start and then move to devices and printers by going to the Hardware and Sound group. The Window of devices and printers will open up. Check if the printers you have installed are on the list.
Step 2: Select printing preferences.
The printer preferences dialog box will open up before you. The settings appearing in the dialog box of printer preferences maybe a little different based on the model of your printer. For example, colored printers have different options in comparison to black and white printers.
Step 3: Click on any tab to display different settings.
One thing that you need to keep in mind is that different printers show different tabs and choices in the dialog box but there are some common settings as well. These include:
Quality: One can print in draft quality for saving ink. One can also print in good quality for finished documents. There are some printers, which offer a dpi setting for quality. The more the dpi, the better is the quality.
Grayscale/ Color: In case you are using a color printer, then you have a choice to print in color. The grayscale option makes use of black ink only.
Paper size: Choose the size of the paper that you are going to print on. In most cases, there is a preview option that displays the way in which you are supposed to insert the paper. This preview is particularly helpful if you are printing envelopes and you need help with inserting them into your printer.
Paper source: In case your printer device has more than one paper tray, then you can choose the paper tray that you wish to use for printing.
Step 4: Select Ok to save settings and then close other control panel windows.
The settings that you choose throughout this process are your default settings for all the printing work that you are going to do. Nevertheless, if you are printing a doc from the word processor, then you can modify the settings for that particular document on the print dialog box.
So, this is all you need to know about how to set printer preferences.
