Setup HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-one Printer:

Step 1 : Unpack the Printer

The first and foremost thing for you to do is off load your printer from the box. Remove all the tapes, stickers and packaging material and then move to the exterior door. By opening the exterior door, you need to remove the tape and stickers from under the ink cartridge access door.

A printer is packed with a lot of safety so you will have to remove stickers from the inside of the printer as well. To do this, open the ink cartridge access door to remove stickers and tapes from inside of the printer. Close the exterior door and ink cartridge access door after it.

Step 2 : Plug in one end of the power cord to the rear of the printer and the other end to a power source. Press the power button to turn it on. The printer control panel will display a language menu for you to select the preferred language.

To confirm the language, touch the language and confirm it by hitting a Yes on the display. Post to it, a country/region and date/time menu will display, repeat the same action with it too to set your localization settings.

Step 3 : Now is the time to install the ink cartridges provided you along with the printer. For this, you have to open the exterior door and then the ink cartridge door. By doing this, the printer carriage moves to the center of your printer.

The printer should be ready for you to use and then remove one of the ink cartridges from the package. (Note: Only touch the black plastic of the cartridge cause mishandling results in ink failure and bad electric connections.)

Remove the tape by avoiding to touch the ink cartridge nozzle. Place the ink cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot and gently push the cartridge until it is placed right.

  • Insert tri-color cartridge into the left slot.
  • Insert black cartridge into the right slot.

When you are done, close the exterior door and ink cartridge door.

Step 4 : Stack the Paper into the Input Tray

To load the paper into the input tray you need to raise the tray. Slide the paper width guide towards the left, begin loading the white paper into the input tray and slide the stack of paper downwards until it stops.

You need to slide the paper width guide to right until it stops just at the edge of the paper because if you push the paper width guide too far, it can bind the paper. Pull out the output tray and raise the tray extender.

Step 5 : The other major step in setting up the HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-one printer is to align all the cartridges for you to achieve the best print quality. When you’ve loaded the paper, touch OK and the printer will automatically print an alignment page.

After this, lift up the scanner lid and place the alignment page in position with the help of engraved guidelines around the glass. When you’ve placed it right, shut the scanner lid and touch OK to scan.

Note: Do not connect your printer with the computer unless asked to do so in the printing software. Post to this, you have set your HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-one printer to have the best of printing experience.
